Eighty Strand shortlisted for AJ Retrofit Award
Our recently completed project, Eighty Strand, has been shortlisted for an AJ Retrofit Award in the Workplace (£10 million and over) category.
The contemporary and complementary additions to the iconic Art Deco ‘Shell-Mex House’, have transformed this London landmark into a vibrant and flexible multi-tenanted workplace for the future, now known as Eighty Strand.
The design was developed from detailed concepts and drawings prepared by architect Duncan Mitchell, structural engineer Simon Bennett, and the client, Strandbrook, with interiors in collaboration with Carter Owers.
The AJ Retrofit Awards, organised by The Architects’ Journal, ‘recognise and celebrate the design expertise behind the vital renewal and repurposing of existing buildings, setting a precedent for ways to slash the industry’s carbon footprint in the process.’
Congratulations to everyone on the shortlist, we are looking forward to seeing how we get on at the awards ceremony on 4th April. You can view the full shortlist here.
