Completed in the 1930s, Shell Mex House is a landmark riverside building known for its scale, flexibility and iconic façade. Studio PDP’s transformation repositions the building for modern use, introducing a new Strand entrance to enhance visibility and connection to Covent Garden. A hospitality-led approach creates a grand reception, shared amenities and activated courtyards, improving occupier experience. A CAT-A refurbishment upgrades performance and flexibility, delivering a future-ready workplace that builds on the building’s historic character while enhancing its commercial value.
Studio PDP is leading the transformation of The Elephant at 318 Oxford Street, repositioning the historic former D H Evans department store as a high-performing mixed-use destination while preserving its Art Deco heritage. The project demonstrates how London’s interwar retail buildings can be reimagined to deliver long-term commercial value and cultural relevance.

Reflecting on our 30 years in practice has given us the opportunity to look at how our leadership structure has changed over time, and given us pause to think about our aspirations, the future direction, and continued vitality of the business. As a result of these discussions, we are excited to announce the next evolution of our leadership team; adding a diversity of thought and expertise at the top level, to help support and shape the future of Studio PDP.
This year marked a significant milestone for us as we celebrated 30 years in practice. It’s been a time to pause and feel proud of our achievements to date, as well as a time to reflect on changes in the wider built environment and to consolidate future plans and direction.
Our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and proactive change begins with our own practice. In our tenth year of recording our carbon emissions and after four years of being carbon neutral, we set out our journey to date and future plans.
