Site progress: House of Fraser, Oxford Street

Our team was on site recently inspecting the windows on the upper floors of the iconic House of Fraser store on Oxford Street, the lower floors are still available for retail trading. The work forms a part of the comprehensive refurbishment and extension proposals which provide a vision for a new, post-pandemic destination with retail, offices, rooftop restaurants and gym.

We have started work on the stripping out and conversion to offices with a pilot window replacement and façade repair scheme. Like many buildings of this type, the Art Deco landmark is suffering from Regent Street disease so extensive repairs are required. House of Fraser have vacated the upper floors and we are progressing with some test repairs to see how effective/suitable they are. A change of use planning consent was secured earlier this year.
