Restoration and improvement of an important heritage asset
Refurbishment, renovation and remodelling of a number of the important Grade I and Grade II listed buildings on the Royal Hospital Chelsea site which were originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The client wished to make improvements and add comfort to this historical home for veteran soldiers who are now known as the Chelsea Pensioners.

The Great Hall, which was the original dining room, Chapel and Octagon were renovated and remodelled. The Octagon supports the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s distinctive cupola and lantern and rises to a height of 130 feet or 40 metres. The Chaplain and Secretary’s living quarters were refurbished and updated. Elsewhere on the site Light Horse Court was refurbished with the new facilities added.
