Valencia Square

Collaborative competition entry

A unique sense of place in a lush green oasis is proposed in this concept to transform Valencia Square. A public realm and landscape strategy with four key elements was developed in collaboration with Alberto Domingo, Studio 4215 and Reno Arqueología.

Client: Valencia City Hall
Area: 20,800 sqm
Status: Design stage

A connected place to encourage active mobility is integrated with the adjacent heritage context. With a focus on the space as a productive urban forest, a hierarchy of flexible and adaptable environments coexist and support a wide range of activities.

"It is not easy to work as a team, but our experience with Studio PDP during the preparation of the competition for the reformation of the Plaza in Valencia, has shown otherwise. Constant dialogue and fluid communication with the rest of the team has allowed us to integrate our ideas, which were sometimes complex, from the world of archaeology and historical heritage. We hope to repeat and further improve the experience in the next project."
