Show house interior design, for a large residential development in Tai Po

The design concept is inspired by the home’s spectacular view - uniquely framed with trees - and in particular, how these trees create layers of colour and texture. This inspired the team to explore texture and pattern within a limited colour palette and in doing so, celebrate the imperfection of nature.

A sophisticated range of materials, such as wood, leather, burnished bronze and artisanal render was introduced, allowing a layering of different patterns and textures. By working within a limited colour palette, a sense of calm is achieved. The aim of the design is to enhance and not overpower the view with range of complementary colours, patterns and textures.

To enhance the view further, a physical frame is introduced to picture windows always drawing the eye to natural light and the view beyond. The design creates texture by repeating simple patterns and layering materials. Where detail is introduced, it is designed to be functional as well as beautiful, such as a sculptural bench at ground floor as both an artwork and a practical piece
