Investors In People - Gold

We’ve listened to feedback from our staff and are delighted to have leapt from Bronze to Gold accreditation in 2 years!

We are proud to have a culture which places people at the heart of our approach. Over the years we’ve worked hard, with a holistic and highly supportive approach, to ensure that PDP London is a place where our staff enjoy coming to work.

In February 2019, we moved office - this presented an opportunity to create a highly bespoke new office space. Following consultations with staff, we were able to create a space which changed the culture and ways of working, looked to the future, brought better comfort levels to employees and significantly improved our environmental performance. Facilities include a new hub space with coffee machine for all (saving take away cups), showers with towels provided, sparkling water and subsidised weekly massages (something we all very much look forward to enjoying again in a post-Covid world!).

“Very caring organisation; the best I’ve worked for.”

IIP staff feedback

We place great emphasis on support and wellbeing and we’ve heavily invested in technology to support flexibility. Now more than ever, flexibility is key, but even in a pre-Covid world, remote or part time working was fundamental to working life for over 35% of our people and it’s something we’ve worked hard to be able to offer all staff. This is one reason why we are bucking trends with female architects accounting for 45% and a gender pay gap which has sat at 0-5% in the last 3 years. We’re also immensely proud that 40% of our senior positions are held by women, which includes 2 female partners.

We actively clamp down on long hours by tracking overtime on a monthly basis, we have 5 trained mental health first aiders and we participate in the Architects Mental Wellbeing Forum.

We like to keep both the mind and body active and participation in sporting and social activities is excellent – the partners sponsor football, netball and softball teams, a charity trip to Snowdonia, and a vibrant social calendar which we all enjoy.

“PDP is so good at promoting work/life balance.”

IIP staff feedback

We are really proud of how far we have come, and in particular the supportive, creative and fun culture that we have created, with flexible working and wellbeing firmly at the heart of all we do.

We recognise that we are still on a journey and want to continue to improve, so we are now starting to think about what the next 6 and 12 months might look like, post lockdown.
