We’re shortlisted for the AJ100 Employer of the Year Award

Our homemade soup lunch was to raise funds for Ukraine

Judged on human resource issues, including staff satisfaction, workplace culture, benefits and staff turnover, we are immensely proud to be a finalist again for this coveted award.

Responding to the workplace challenges of the pandemic has required agility in management from our HR Director Sophie Tait who is assisted by Eleanore Smith. This agility has been brought into our new working practices which were devised in consultation with staff. We have always embraced flexible working and our approach is based on trust and common sense with wellbeing at its heart.

We were recently awarded IIP (Investors in People) Gold Level, a jump from Bronze in the previous assessment. Last year we also developed our EDI Forum, putting together a Charter which sets out actions we can implement in the short and long term, the Forum meets monthly.

We have a robust career development programme which provides a clear career path for our staff, we have annual career development meetings where individual plans are mapped out. Opportunities provided throughout the year include bi-weekly CPDs, creative talks, design charettes, external and online training options, access to a range of knowledge boards and a new mentoring programme – Shape.

Our internal one-on-one mentoring programme gives individual support and encouragement for learning and development.

We strive for a balanced, open and diverse culture where staff are supported and can work flexibly with access to continuous training and development. It is not only in our design work that we place people at the centre of what we do, we believe our practice should be a place where staff enjoy coming to work each day.
